just got the lease on the Tungulaekur sea-trout river for 2003.
This is very exciting development for Angling Service Strengir.
During the peak season (April and May) 4 rods have been getting

year at Breiddalsa
|
The
2002 salmon season is now over and proved to be a satisfactory
one. This year saw a 40% increase in the Breiddalsa catch (from
233 last year, to 325 this season), and the past season will
be remembered for its large salmon......

Hrutafjardara ends on a high note
Our
first season on this extremely attractive river on the north coast
has gone well. The last week of the season produced the largest
fish of the year - a 22lb cock fish from the Junction Pool.

Spate too Late
The
last week of the fly-fishing period on the Breiddalsa saw UK casting
instructor Michael Evans and party fishing from 23 to 28 August
of August.

BIG
FISH!

German
angler Markus Kemner landed also recently a 19-pounder from Eyjakrókar
pool on beat # 1. More big fish than ever before have been caught
and observed in the river.....

Fishing picks up in July
The
period from mid-July to mid-August is generally regarded as the "prime time" on
most Icelandic rivers, and after such a slow start to the season
it is good to see that the salmon seem to be on cue.......

Divine
intervention at the Breiddalsa?

I'm
happy to report a very successful opening day at the Breiddalsa,
where five salmon were landed on 1 July.The first salmon of the
season was hooked at 07.07hrs by the local priest......

Grenlækur
with good start!
The
Grenlaekur opened on 18 June and has so far produced 100 Arctic
char averaging 3lbs, and a few brown trout.....

PRESS! Trophy Trout from Minnivallalækur!
On
the 7 May a huge brown trout was caught in the Minnivallalækur.
The fish took Black Ghost streamer during the late evining in the
Home Pool. It weighed 7kg (15.4lb)...

opening day at Minnivallalækur
The
trout fishing started 1. May in Minnivallalækur. Ecxellent
fishing was had by three Spanish anglers and guide Örn. The
opening day catch was 24 trout, with many more lost - big fish
that broke the leaders. The four largest fish measured 60 to 70cm...
