Here are a few recent news items

There is a mini media storm raging in Iceland due to the fact that a suspicious looking salmon was caught in the Breiðdalsá last week. It certainly looks like an escapee from a salt water pen. Scale samples have been sent to the Board of Fresh Water Fisheries in Iceland were it will be determined what the origin of this fish actually is.

2005 SEASON STARTS WELL!

The salmon and trout season of 2005 has got off to an excellent start giving hope that it will be even better than last year which was in fact one of the best for years in Iceland. Our salmon rivers are for the most part late starters yet the Nes-Árnes beats of the “big” Laxá up north open up on June 20th and there were fish already up there, which is considered unusual these past few years with the June-catch being mostly big brown trout.

Dear Angler,

As we approach the new season there are some opportunities still to sample some of Iceland's top fishing - be it for salmon, sea-trout, wild brown trout or sea-run Arctic char. Iceland is well-known for it's sensational salmon fishing, but I want to impress upon you that the trout fishing is also of the highest standard.
