The Breiðdalsá breaks record third year running!
We predicted it and expected it but for a while during the draughts this summer, we thought, “well perhaps not this time!” But then the conditions improved and the fishing picked up again. |

Breiðdalsá on par with last year
Our main salmon river, the Breiðdalsá is on par with itself with a similar total to the same time last year. Yesterday the count stood on 645 salmon with the last weeks total a massive 173 salmon brought to the bank. |

BREIÐDALSÁ'S BEST EVER START

One of our two main salmon rivers, the Breiðdalsá has had it's best ever start to a season. A late starter by Icelandic standards, opening on July 1rst each year, we landed a few big mws salmon already in the first shifts and the fishing gradually got better and better to the extent that by last weekend we were breaking into triple figures, which accounts for our best ever start . |

NEW SALMON SEASON STARTS BEAUTIFULLY

Our salmon rivers are late starters by Icelandic standards and do not get under way until the 1rst of July. Good thing to, as the spring was cold in Iceland and the June fishing was marked and marred by very heavy and consistent rainfalls. |

A GOOD SPRING SEASON AND THE SALMON LOOMS LARGE!

The spring season is now advanced and many anglers are casting their glances into the near future as the salmon season looms large on the horizon, although the rivers of Strengir are late starters and do not open until late June and the start of July. |
